A cry for help on behalf of the Kebne wave camp
Did Kebne-2020 become the last camp of its kind?
Will this, the world’s oldest surviving glider camp, which began in 1962, now go down in history because of Corona?
As a result of the raging pandemic, the fully prepared Kebne camp became a stub camp last year when all the foreign participants Could not participate due to the pandemic!
This year’s camp is cancelled due to the same reason…
As a result of this, Segelflygklubben Kiruna is now on the verge of bankruptcy! The money will run out on April 10, 2021, when the next bills are due.
The club is in dire need of about SEK 40,000 (less than € 4,000) to ensure the operation in 2021, as well as a similar amount to organize the Kebne camp in 2022.
The long-standing soul of Kebne Camp, Patrik Isaksson and his small but fierce support team have a burning desire and a firm intention to organize a flight camp in 2022 as well! However, to ensure this, they need our support.
Let’s help SKF Kiruna together, thus ensuring the continuation of the globally unique and traditional wave camp!
The actual membership fee of SFK Kiruna is SEK 1,250 (~ € 125). The camp fee for the previous Kebne camp in 2020 was SEK 2,800 (~ € 280).
The club’s assets are:
- 1 glider G 103 Twin Astir III SL
- 1 piece glider tug Piper PA-22 Colt
- 1 camp village with 10 cottages on a plot of 3000 square meters

By joining as a supporting member with the amount of the actual membership fee, supporting the camp arrangements with the amount of the previous camp fee, for example, or adopting any of the above equipment with an optional amount, we ensure the continuation of breathtaking wave experience on the ice of Lake Paittasjärvi. Any help is helpful, so obviously any amount of support is welcome – no amount is too small! Since the club is debt free, all support goes to ensuring flight operations and that the Kebne camps can continue!
